Mølleren skilte klinten fra hveten. Klinten ble sett på som et ugress som reduserte verdien på kornavlingen ved at den smakte vondt og slik satte sitt preg på melet.
På Nordiske språk er klinten ugress, den kunne gi ubehag, kvalme og muligens andre bivirkninger. I engelsktalende land skiller man the “Wheat from the Chaff, chaff er det ytterste tørre skallet på frøet, men stadig det verdiløse mindre næringsrike som skal skilles ut. Metaforisk brukes både klinten og chaff om det verdiløse.
Hveten er en basismatvare og dyrkes på alle kontinenter, den har flyttet med mennesker etterhvert som de har beveget seg og handlet med hverandre.
Hveten er grunnleggende for energi og menneskelig kontakt.
Hvete og gull kan lagres, men bare den ene kan spises og dyrkes, i overflod skaper begge marked og økonomi.

The valuable wheat is separated from the chaff which is the husk and of no food value. In the Nordic countries the translation is Klinte, a poisonous plant that thrived alongside wheat and reduced the value of the harvest. Both chaff and Klinte had to be separated from the grain before processing.
Metaphorically the old saying was about separating he valueless from the valuable.
Wheat is a staple food and grown on all continents of the world, it has migrated as people have moved and traded with each other. Wheat can be regarded as a basic for energy and human contact. Wheat and gold can be stored, however only one can be grown and eaten. In surplus they both provide a market and an economy
